EILEEN RODGERS - BLUE SWING (1958)
This LP was restored by Tim. Thanks for your time and effort, my friend.
1. Wabash Blues
2. Am I Blue
3. Some of These Days
4. Don't Get Around Much Anymore
5. Solitude
6. I Guess I'll Have to Dream the Rest
7. Sunday
8. I'd Climb the Highest Mountain
9. I Ain't Got Nobody
10. The Lonesome Road
11. I Cried for You
12. After You've Gone
Singer Eileen Rodgers was "discovered" by Charlie Spivak at the Carnival Lounge in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. After two years in Spivak's band, she struck out on her own, landing auditions (and a subsequent contract) with Mitch Miller. With Ray Conniff and his orchestra, she offers a dozen selections on "Blue Swing," most of them firmly associated with the swing era and most of them blue, not in the sense of the classic blues, but deriving from them.
