FRANKIE RANDALL - AT IT AGAIN (1966)
Arranged by Marty Paich
-A wonderful day like today
-Have I stayed too long at the fair
-The only one
-The more I see you
-Speak low
-So in love
-Look for the silver ring
-The rules of the road
-Adios
-Hello, young lovers
-Impossible
-Next time
Frankie Randall's at it again -- and we're always happy when he's got another record to offer -- because we can always be sure of a pretty swinging, pretty groovy time! Marty Paich's on board this time around -- giving Frankie some great backings with a very jazzy feel -- a style that's similar to Paich's work in past years with Mel Torme, given perhaps even a bit more kick in the bottom here. Most tracks here are standards, but Randall gives them a wonderfully fresh take -- an upbeat, lively sort of sound that makes you feel like you're catching Frankie at some great mid-evening set in a small uptown club.
