Jazz vocalist Marie Wilson's 2002 release with pianist Kevin Hunt is a superb tribute to Hoagy Carmichael, which brings together the musical crafting and style that Kevin and Marie have developed over many years of working together. The album was commissioned by Jim McLeod of ABC-FM's Jazztrack program and accompanying Marie and Kevin are Dave Pudney on bass and Gordon Rytmeister on drums. In the sleeve notes Jim McLeod writes: Marie Wilson... has the art of the seemingly easy, simple style - so lyrical and so musical. The art of accompaniment is also a masterful thing. Pianist Kevin Hunt is a music master (to re-use a Carmichael title) - Kevin is generous, supportive yet stimulating.
