Ann Sally is Korean by ancestry. She was born and raised in Nagoya, Japan where she graduated from High school. She entered the medical college in Tokyo and came across the music of Bossa Nova. Besides becoming a cardiac internist she joined a music club activity at the college and started singing. She recorded her debut album Voyage which included some of her favourite songs and other cover tunes which best suited her soft & velvet voice. Supported by the jazz great Toots Thielemans, she experienced a wonderful collaboration in the recording studio of this album.

Her follow-up albums Moon Dance and Brand New Orleans further showcased her developing musical talents with songs sung in English, Portuguese as well as Japanese.
