Jo and Frankie recorded twenty duets between 1950 and 1953, all of them to be found in this outstanding compilation. They clearly had a lot of fun recording together as the titles of the songs show. Eight of these tracks charted in America, some as B-sides. Two made the top ten (Hey good looking, Hambone), three more made the top twenty (In the cool cool cool of the evening, Pretty eyed baby, Gambella the gambling lady) and three more made the top thirty (Setting the woods on fire, Chow Willy, Way down yonder in New Orleans). Regardless of their chart positions, they are all brilliant and well worth a listen. The chart entries are not the only great songs here - there are great covers of Bushel and a peck and Basin Street blues as well as less famous songs. There are even a couple of Christmas songs here.
