Shelley Moore was born and raised in England where
she sang in nightclubs, appeared on radio and television and toured Europe,
Israel and the USA. Her first recording was for EMI Columbia, then she switched
to the jazz oriented Esquire Record's Starlite label. After touring in the USA,
she decided to become a permanent resident. Shortly after arriving in
California, she was signed by the Chess-Argo label and subsequently recorded the
album “For the First Time” backed by such musicians as Ramsey Lewis, Eddie
Harris, Plas Johnson and John Collins. However, after marrying her American
husband, Shelley decided to concentrate on family life and raising her two
children. After retiring for some years, she started singing again, but no
longer tours. She now resides in Orange County, California, where she continues
to delight audiences with a diverse range of material including her own
compositions, several of which she has recorded.
